About Us
Karamoja Women Cultural Group is a grassroots-led organization working in Karamoja to empower women, protect indigenous land rights, and strengthen community leadership.

OUR PROGRAMS
KWCG Uganda implements community-driven programs that empower indigenous women, protect land rights, and strengthen leadership across Karamoja. Our work is rooted in local realities and designed to create sustainable, long-term impact.
1. Land Rights & Legal Empowerment
We support indigenous communities to secure and defend their land rights through legal awareness, documentation, and advocacy. What we do: Educate communities on land laws and rights Support land documentation and mapping Provide legal aid and referrals Advocate against land grabbing and forced evictions Impact: Communities gain confidence and legal backing to protect their ancestral land.
2. Women Empowerment & Leadership
We empower women to become leaders and active participants in decision-making processes within their communities. What we do: Leadership and advocacy training Support women-led initiatives Promote gender equality and inclusion Strengthen women's participation in governance Impact: Women take leadership roles and influence decisions that affect their lives and communities.
3. Youth Engagement & Capacity Building
We engage young people as agents of change by equipping them with knowledge, skills, and opportunities. What we do: Youth leadership training Mentorship programs Civic education and awareness Skills development initiatives Impact: Young people become empowered, responsible leaders shaping the future of their communities.
4. Advocacy & Policy Engagement
We amplify community voices and influence policies that affect indigenous populations. What we do: Engage policymakers and stakeholders Develop policy briefs and research Participate in national and regional dialogues Promote indigenous rights at all levels Impact: Stronger policies and increased representation for indigenous communities.
